Master of Management in Sustainability Management (IC-MSM)


INTRODUCTION

The Master of Management in Sustainability Management (IC-MSM) at Srinakharinwirot University International College for Sustainability Studies (SWUIC) is designed to develop future leaders who can drive sustainability transformation across businesses, governments, non-profit organizations, and communities.

As sustainability becomes a strategic priority worldwide, organizations increasingly require professionals who can integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into management decisions, innovation, and long-term value creation. The IC-MSM program equips students with interdisciplinary knowledge and practical skills in sustainability strategy, responsible business practices, stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, and sustainability thinking.

Designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals from diverse academic backgrounds, the program combines management foundations with contemporary sustainability concepts, enabling graduates to navigate complex global challenges and create positive impact. Through experiential learning, industry engagement, and applied research, students will be prepared to lead organizations toward a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The program is designed to suit the needs of individuals from various backgrounds and goals. It aims at preparing them for a solid starting point in an exciting career in sustainability management. The program is, thus, divided into 2 tracks: Thesis (Academic) and Independent Study (Professional).

  • The Thesis Track aims to prepare students for a more academic career path including doctoral candidate, university lecturer, researcher, data analyst, and scholar.
  • The Independent Study Track is suitable for those interested in making changes in the business and industry sectors as well as working as a consultant.

CORE COURSES

Core courses aim to provide students with crucial knowledge, concepts and tools to analyze and solve sustainability management problems. Students must enroll the minimum of 15 credits (5 courses) from the following core courses:

  • MSM511 Principles of Sustainability Management
  • MSM512 Environmental Economics for Sustainable Management
  • MSM513 Stakeholder Communication and Engagement for Social Sustainability
  • MSM514 Research Methodology in Sustainability
  • MSM515 Sustainability Seminar and Project Management

Remarks:   The availability and schedule of core courses is subject to IC-MSM’s arrangement.

ELECTIVE COURSES

Elective courses aim to provide students with specific knowledge, concepts and tools to diagnose and solve problems in various sustainability aspects. Each student can choose to specialise in one or to explore multiple aspects. For the Thesis Track, students must choose at least 3 elective courses (minimum 9 credits) from the following elective courses. Students in the Independent Study Track are required to select of a minimum of 18 credits (6 courses) from the following elective courses.

  • MSM531           Artificial Intelligence for Sustainability Management
  • MSM532           Carbon Accounting and Management
  • MSM533           Sustainable Finance and Investment
  • MSM534           Sustainable Business Models and Innovation

Remarks:   The availability and schedule of elective courses is subject to IC-MSM’s arrangement.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

✔️ Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree in any field from a higher education institution equivalent to a Thai bachelor’s degree, or other academic qualifications approved by IC-MSM program committee are eligible to apply.

❌ No work experience is required.
